Mille Lacs Lake
Mille Lacs is one of the premier walleye fisheries in the Midwest. The DNR maintains multiple free public accesses around the lake including Isle Boat Access, Wahkon Boat Access, and Garrison Boat Access — all with paved ramps and trailer parking.

Lake Minnetonka
Lake Minnetonka in the Twin Cities metro has over a dozen public boat accesses maintained by the Three Rivers Park District and MNDNR. Grays Bay Ramp in Minnetonka is one of the most popular with multiple lanes and good depths. Halsted Bay Access on the western end is less crowded on summer weekends.
